[non-news] Write For 411 Wrestling!

October 8, 2012 | Posted by Larry Csonka

– 411 is looking for new writers for our Wrestling section! If you love Wrestling and love to write, we want you on our team. Your writing needs to be easy to read, and be well organized. It takes time (often a lot of time) and work (often a lot of work). We take this very seriously and so should you. Don’t apply unless you are serious and plan to stick around.

We also require images in columns, video if possible (embedding videos from YouTube or similar places would be fine), formatting to keep the column organized, (bold, italics, underlines, larger font for headers/titles/subtitles, colored font, and so on), avoiding “walls of text” by breaking up long columns with section headers, and, if possible, smaller sections to go with a main op-ed piece.

DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO TAKE ON A WEEKLY COMMITMENT TO COMPLETING YOUR COLUMN/REPORT/ARTICLE! PLEASE DO NOT WASTE OUR TIME!

  • Please include a sample of the work you would be offering to 411mania.
  • We’re ONLY looking for…
  • TNA Impact Recapper: We need someone to do a weekly LIVE recap of the TNA Impact show. This will be a weekly job, where you recap the show, live as it happens, and constantly update the 411 main page. For an example of a TNA Impact report, check out Larry Csonka’s Impact Wrestling Report.
  • WWE Smackdown Recapper: We need someone to do a weekly recap of the WWE Smackdown show. This will be a weekly job, where you recap the show, and post to the 411 main page within 15-minutes of the show completing. For an example of a WWE Smackdown report, check out Larry Csonka’s WWE Smackdown Report.
  • WWE Main Event Recapper: We need someone to do a weekly recap of the WWE Main Event show. This will be a weekly job, where you recap the show, and post to the 411 main page within 15-minutes of the show completing. For an example of a WWE Main Event report, check out Larry Csonka’s WWE Main Event Report.
  • WWE Raw, WWE Smackdown, TNA IMPACT Instant Analysis Columnists: We are looking for some new people to take over the Instant Analysis columns for the WWE Raw, WWE Smackdown, TNA IMPACT Wrestling Shows. The goal of the Instant Analysis column is to break down the show, segment by segment, with an explanation as to why it worked or did not work. At the end, you give your overall thoughts on the show and a score. The column is due 15-minutes after the show ends. For an example of a 411 Instant Analysis Column, check out Chad Nevett’s Monday Night Raw Instant Analysis.

Writing for 411 is a fun experience! If you want to be part of the team, please send a sample of your wrestling writing here.
